Sharon Kay Bruns celebrates 32 years in the healthcare industry

LEE'S SUMMIT, MO, November 20, 2009 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Sharon Kay Bruns, Lead Laboratory Technician at Lee's Summit Medical Center, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for demonstrating dedication, leadership and excellence in medical technology.

As a lead laboratory technologist at Lee's Summit Medical Center, Ms. Bruns is responsible for managing the blood bank, overseeing transfusion practices, conducting proficiency testing, ensuring quality assurance and coordinating laboratory information systems. She also fulfills the director's responsibilities during an absence. She attributes her success to the support she receives from her mentors, trainers and from the administration department.

Ms. Bruns received her Bachelor of Science in Medical Technology from the University of Central Missouri and became a certified medical technologist through the American Society for Clinical Pathology. She is a member of the American Society for Quality and the American Society for Clinical Pathologists. She hopes to complete her ASQ certification and focus more on quality, auditing and risk management.
