HONG KONG, February 10, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- On January 24th 2010, the Hong Kong Adventist Hospital Foundation, Founding Partner and Advisor to the Board of VinaCapital, Ms. Katherine Yip Geicke, one of AsiaâEUR s leading business women and philanthropists and celebrity couple Mr. Michael Wong and Ms. Janet Ma visited the Guangdong Provincial Center of Rehabilitation for People with Disability.

The visit allowed guests to gain insights into the lives of children with profound hearing loss and meet those waiting for cochlear implantation. Specialists from the Hong Kong Adventist Hospital Foundation took the opportunity to share their expertise with the Centre and exchange ideas for better patient care.

Attending on behalf of the Yip Geicke Foundation, Ms. Katherine Yip Geicke, who is also involved with charities such as Hong Kong Cancer Fund and Helping Hand, contributed funds in support of the Hong Kong Adventist Hospital FoundationâEUR s recent Christmas cookie fundraising initiative, which feeds into the FoundationâEUR s Children Medical Fund.

Speakers at the visit included President/CEO of Hong Kong Adventist Hospital Dr. Frank Yeung and Medical Director of the ChildrenâEUR s Hearing Fund Dr. Buddy Wong who presented research on cochlear implantation. Other notable guests included Audiologist from the ChildrenâEUR s Hearing Fund, Ms. Kitty Tse, Audiologist from Advanced Bionics, Ms. Joyce Tang, a Consultant from the ChildrenâEUR s Hearing Fund, Dr. Wong Lap Ching as well as representatives from the Shenzhen Rehabilitation Centre.

The visit ended with guests presenting gifts to the children.
