Cambridge Who's Who Names Donna R. Hendershot, RCS, RDCS, NR-CMA, AA Professional of the Year in Diagnostic Cardiac Sonography

SAN LEANDRO, CA, October 22, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Donna R. Hendershot, RCS, RDCS, NR-CMA, AA, Cardiac Echo Supervisor for San Leandro Hospital, has been named Cambridge Who's Who Professional of the Year in Diagnostic Cardiac Sonography. While inclusion in the Cambridge Who's Who Registry is an honor, only a small selection of members in each discipline are chosen for this distinction. These special honorees are distinguished based on their professional accomplishments, academic achievements, leadership abilities, years of service, and the credentials they have provided in association with their Cambridge Who's Who membership.
A cardiac echo supervisor for San Leandro Hospital for a total of 33 years, Donna R. Hendershot believes that it only takes a dream, desire and motivation to succeed. She recognizes the importance of maintaining a strong reputation, which explains her impeccable record overseeing all diagnostic testing for electroencephalograms and the heart, conducting public speaking engagements on heart healthcare, and working alongside physicians at the hospital. A national certified medical assistant, she is also certified as a cardiovascular technologist, a cardiovascular sonographer, and a diagnostic cardiac sonographer. She excels in her position to such a degree that her administrators will not allow her to retire. Thus, it comes as no surprise that she was honored with an Outstanding Employee Award.
"Everyone," she insists, "needs to be treated with the utmost care" regardless of the circumstances. She works at a nonprofit hospital, where several of her patients can get their healthcare and test costs reduced or written off. Yet, constraints within the insurance industry, frozen wages, the economic climate and job losses all make it harder for patients to pay. Though she has minimal power to set procedural costs, she can control her attitude. Thus, she strives to give her best effort to ease patients. Ms. Hendershot is active in an organization to help feed and clothe the poor. Additionally, she contributes to the Disabled American Veterans, Davis Street Family Resource, and the Lupus Foundation. She seeks, however, to play an even larger role in helping less fortunate people in the future.
Ms. Hendershot, who received an associate of arts in general studies from Chabot College in 1990, gives lectures to seniors and volunteers at San Leandro Hospital. Yet, there is more to Ms. Hendershot than meets the eye. Her diverse interests are evident in her extracurricular activities: she published a book of poetry, adopted two beautiful cats from a shelter, and took a photo with Hulk Hogan at a wrestling event (an experience she considers extremely memorable). She maintains affiliation with the American Society of Echocardiology, the American College of Physicians, the Society of Diagnostic Medical Sonography, the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography, WSTV, ASC, CCI, and BASE.
