LITTLE ROCK, AR, November 24, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Archie L. McEvers, Nurse Practitioner of Cardiothoracic Surgery at SUNY Upstate Medical University Hospital, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for demonstrating dedication, leadership, and excellence in nursing.

Mr. McEvers has 36 years of professional nursing experience and he specializes in cardiac surgery and critical care. Since 1998, he has been a nurse practitioner at SUNY Upstate Medical University Hospital. His role requires him to supervise nine nurse practitioners and physician assistants, provide yearly performance evaluations, and manage the postoperative care of patients. He attributes his success to his demeanor, interpersonal skills, and his supportive team and administration.

A graduate of SUNY Upstate Medical University, Mr. McEvers received a Master of Science degree in nursing. He holds certifications as an adult nurse practitioner as well as in critical care nursing and cardiac surgery. Mr. McEvers is a member of the New York State Nurse Practitioner Association, the American Association of Critical-Care Nurses and Sigma Theta Tau International. In 1998, he received an Award of Excellence in nursing. He volunteers his spare time to his local church and enjoys singing in the barbershop style. Mr. McEvers intends to continue working in his field and mentor more nurses and nurse practitioners.
