Linda L. Dempster, Nurse Evaluator, Certified Public Health Nurse, was the only ESRD nurse trainer for the California Department of Health Services.

PALM DESERT, CA, November 11, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Linda L. Dempster, a retired Nurse Evaluator with the California Department of Health Care Services, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for demonstrating dedication, leadership and excellence in public health nursing.

A specialist in mental health and renal care, Linda L. Dempster enjoyed a fulfilling 40 years in public health nursing in various specialties. She concluded her career as a nurse evaluator for the California Department of Health Care Services. In this capacity she was charged with inspecting the licenses of medical facilities and health care professionals, and conducted audits and investigations. Recognized as the only ESRD (end stage renal disease) nurse trainer during her time with the state, Ms. Dempster was appointed by the Governor of California to the California State Council on Disabilities and previously served as President of the American Nephrology Nurses Association in Southern California. She attributes her success and longevity to her compassionate nature, dedication to serving others, and her faith in God.

Though officially in retirement, Ms. Dempster remains an active member of her community. She volunteers at local nursing homes, Christian camps, and as a medical case manager for the disabled in her community and via the internet. She also focuses her energies on writing, and has since published three poems. She aspires to publish her first book within the next five years.

Ms. Dempster is a Registered Nurse, a Certified Hemodialysis Nurse and a Certified Public Health Nurse in California. She was awarded a scholarship by the Industrial Nurses Association of Pennsylvania to attend Montgomery Hospital School of Nursing in 1967. She obtained her Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 1981 from California State University, Long Beach. An exemplary student, she was nominated to the National Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi and is a lifetime member.
