Marilyn R. Brown, MD celebrates 40 years as a professor at the University of Rochester Medical Center

ROCHESTER, NY, November 01, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Marilyn R. Brown, Professor at the University of Rochester Medical Center, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for demonstrating dedication, leadership and excellence in pediatric gastroenterology and nutrition.

With 40 years of experience as a professor at the University of Rochester Medical Center, Marilyn R. Brown is responsible for teaching residents, assessing residents' clinical work, providing care for patients with medical ailments, particularly in the fields of pediatric gastroenterology and parenteral and enteral nutrition. She became involved in her profession through the influence of her father, who was the Chairman of Biochemistry at Cornell University Medical College. She attributes her success to perseverance.

Dr. Brown received an MD from the University of Rochester School of Medicine in 1962. In addition to her formal education, she has been a diplomate of the American Board of Pediatrics' sub-board of Pediatric Gastroenterology and Nutrition for 14 years. She is a former president of the Medical Society of Monroe and a member of the the American Gastroenterology Association and the North American Society of Pediatric Gastroenterology and Nutrition, and the Monroe Plan for Medical Care and the Medical Society of the County of Monroe. She is on the board of trustees of the Rochester Academy of Medicine.
