Dr. Augustus Eduafo is a fellow of the American Society of Nephrology and the American College of Physicians

DAYTON, OH, December 10, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Augustus Eduafo, MD, Nephrologist at Renal Physicians Inc., has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for demonstrating dedication, leadership and excellence in transplant nephrology.

At Renal Physicians Inc., Dr. Eduafo has worked as a nephrologist for 14 years. On a regular basis, he directs and conducts meetings with the transplant department. He is also responsible for consulting with patients, managing the dialysis unit, and working in the intensive care unit. Primarily, he cares for patients with kidney disease, and often, he works with those who do not have health insurance. Dr. Eduafo is proud to work in nephrology because 45 percent of dialysis patients are, like himself, of African American descent. He affirms that his success stems from his upbringing, perseverance, and the support of his wife.

In 1986, Dr. Eduafo earned an MD in Ghana. He holds a Master of Science in Pharmacology from Albany Medical College in New York and completed a residency in internal medicine at SUNY in Brooklyn, New York. Afterward, he completed a fellowship at Cornell University. He is a member of his local Catholic doctors' guild, as well as The Ohio State Medical Association and the American Society of Nephrology. He is a member of the American Society of Transplantation and a fellow of the American College of Physicians. Dr. Eduafo has been honored with three Teacher of the Year Awards from Wright State University Boonshoft School of Medicine and is currently a clinical associate professor of medicine.
