LAS CRUCES, NM, December 10, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Vanessa T. Santana, LMSW, Registered Nurse for the Rio Grande Medical Group, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for demonstrating dedication, leadership and excellence in health care.

With three years of field experience, Mrs. Santana has worked for the Rio Grande Medical Group for two years. A registered nurse and a licensed master social worker, she has developed an expertise in family and holistic health. In her position, she is responsible for utilizing triage in an urgent care setting, as well as completing electrocardiograms and wound care. She also effectively collaborates with others in the community to best serve her patients. She completes assessments and provides patient centered care while educating the patients on health promotion and prevention.

Mrs. Santana is pursuing a master's degree through the nurse practitioner program at the University of Texas at El Paso. She received a Master of Social Work from New Mexico State University. In addition, she earned a Bachelor of Science in nursing from New Mexico State University and a Bachelor of Arts in psychology from Loyola University New Orleans. When she is not working she enjoys cycling, sharing time with family and friends and volunteering in the community. Driven by her passion to help others, Mrs. Santana attributes her success to the support she receives from her husband and parents.
