Carla M. Valentine will celebrate her 30th year in nursing

Anaheim, CA, March 11, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ --Carla M. Valentine, Registered Nurse and Risk Manager for North Anaheim Surgicenter, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for demonstrating dedication, leadership and excellence in healthcare.

With nearly 30 years of professional experience, Ms. Valentine attributes her success to being detail-oriented. At her current post as Risk Manager she is in charge of reviewing all incidents that occur at the facility. She investigates for system problems, staff issues, or equipment problems. Her findings are reportable to management on a quarterly basis, which is a part of the Vanguard Health System. She was also appointed the role of Infection Preventionist for both California facilities North Anaheim Surgicenter and Magnolia Surgery Center in the fall of 2009. She also works in the Post Anesthesia Recovery Care unit where she monitors patients as they wake up from anesthesia after their outpatient surgery. She provides home care instructions/teaching to the patient and their family prior to discharge.

Ms. Valentine received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 1980 from the University of North Dakota. She began her career as a Registered Nurse in Grand Forks, ND. She is a current member of the Ambulatory Surgery Centers Association. She has current training in BLS, ACLS, and PALS thru the American Heart Association. She is a former member of the Society of Pediatric Nurses and the American Diabetes Association.
