JAMAICA PLAIN, MA, March 11, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ --Kelley F. Doherty, Doctor of Pharmacy for Massachusetts General Hospital, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for demonstrating dedication, leadership and excellence in pharmaceutical services.

Kelley F. Doherty embarked on a career as a pharmacist in 2004, lured by the opportunity to interact with people and pursue her passion for biology and chemistry at the same time. She has since acquired a specialization in oncology and pediatrics and, in 2007, brought her talents to Massachusetts General Hospital. As doctor of pharmacy, she is responsible for processing and reviewing for accuracy in relation to oncology and pediatrics, going on rounds with the medical team, assessing the appropriateness of orders, educating patients and their families regarding medication, and overseeing inpatient pharmacy services. Ms. Doherty is gratified to be doing work that she loves, and considers personal ambition and the support of family and friends to be the driving forces behind her success.

A Registered Pharmacist, Ms. Doherty obtained her Doctor of Pharmacy in 2007 from the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences. Her professional affiliations include the Massachusetts Society of Health-System Pharmacists, The Rho Chi Society, and the Golden Key International Honour Society. She is a regular participant in the Avon Walk for Breast Cancer. In five years, Ms. Doherty would like to refine her skills in pediatrics and oncology, move toward acquiring clinical experience, and become a board-certified pharmacotherapy specialist.
