With 24 years of practical experience in medicine, Alberto D. Urena is a specialist in primary care and internal medicine. Dr. Urena started NY Hispanic Family Medical PC three years ago in order to provide much-needed services to his community.

Dr. Urena initially became involved in his profession through an innate desire to help people through prevention. He advocates for the awareness of proper nutrition as a base for good health. For his excellence in the field of medicine, Dr. Urena was honored with an award of recognition for 10 years of exemplary service at the Elmhurst Hospital Center as an assistant attending and clinical instructor of medicine. Today, he runs NY Hispanic Family Medical PC with the mission to provide "quality and total health care under one roof" in a friendly, private practice setting. Dr. Urena, diplomate of the American Board of Internal Medicine and affiliate of The Medical Society of the State of New York, American Medical Association and American College of Physicians, is recognized for his invaluable contributions to his community. He holds an MD from the Universidad Nacional Pedro Henriquez Urena in the Dominican Republic and is board certified in internal medicine through the Mount Sinai School of Medicine.
