Registered Nurse Maggie Elizabeth Gary excels in Pediatric and Neurotrauma Intensive Care Nursing

NEW IBERIA, LA, April 7, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ --Maggie Elizabeth Gary, Registered Nurse at Memorial Hermann Hospital, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for demonstrating dedication, leadership and excellence in nursing.

Motivated by an innate interest in the medical field, Maggie Elizabeth Gary joined Memorial Hermann Hospital two years ago as a Registered Nurse. In 2006, she graduated from Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. She has since gone on to excel in Pediatric and Neurotrauma Intensive Care Nursing. In addition to assisting doctors and medical residents, Miss Gary is tasked with caring for patients suffering from strokes, brain and spinal cord injuries as well as administering critical and geriatric care. On a daily basis, she serves as a charge nurse who oversees thirty three patients and seventeen nurses. She is particularly proud of the success she has achieved in such a short time and attributes her achievements to her willpower, dedication, determination and support of family and friends.

Miss Gary is currently pursuing a Master's degree to become a Family Nurse Practitioner at the University of Texas Health Sciences Center in Houston, Texas. She holds certifications in Advanced Cardiac Life Support and Pediatric Life Support from the American Heart Association. As a certified ACLS instructor, she provides training for her fellow healthcare professionals. Miss Gary's professional affiliations include the American Association of Critical Care Nurses. She is also actively involved with the Ronald McDonald House Charities, through which she provides assistance for terminally ill children and their families.
