Deborah Hart Recognized for Excellence in Nursing
Deborah Hart celebrates 10 years in the nursing field

CAPE BRETON, NOVA SCOTIA, CANADA, May 19, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ --Deborah Hart BScN RN, MN-NP, a Nurse Practitioner working for the Cape Breton District Health Authority, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for demonstrating dedication, leadership and excellence in nursing care.

With over 10 years of professional experience, Ms. Hart specializes in emergency care. As a nurse practitioner, her focus is both emergency and primary healthcare; she provides health services to individuals, families and communities focusing on promoting health and preventing illness. She conducts patient-family education, performs comprehensive health assessments, diagnoses and treats health problems, monitors outcomes and works collaboratively with other healthcare providers. She is also a co-chairwoman for the Cape Breton Community Partnership on Drug Abuse committee, a member of the Emergency Trauma Care Team for the CBDHA, and a volunteer for the Nova Scotia Gambia Association. She became involved in her profession while serving as a Medical Assistant for the Canadian Forces for several years, and she attributes her successes to her perseverance, family's support and great colleagues.

Ms. Hart received her Master of Nursing in Nurse Practitioning from Dalhousie University. A volunteer nurse practitioner for the Nova Scotia Gambia Association, she is also a member of the Canadian Association of Advanced Practice Nurses, the Nurse Practitioner Association of Nova Scotia, the National Emergency Nurses Association (Nova Scotia) and the Sigma Theta Tau International Honors Nursing Society- Rho Rho Chapter. She is a recipient of multiple awards and distinctions. In the future, she intends to further refine her skills as a nurse practitioner and become further involved in overseas volunteer services.
