Nadine Sportsman Named to Exclusive Membership Organization
Nadine Sportsman will be published in a national nursing journal in 2010
WYKOFF, MN, May 28, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ --Nadine Sportsman, Psychiatric Staff Nurse for Mayo Foundation for Medical Education and Research, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for demonstrating dedication, leadership and excellence in nursing.
Ms. Sportsman has 15 years of overall professional experience. As a psychiatric staff nurse, she is responsible for assisting patients, administering medication, leading support groups, maintaining environment safety for patients and visitors, and coordinating with community resources at discharge. She previously worked as a nursing assistant in a nursing home and emergency medical technician in her community.
A member of the International Society of Nurses in Genomics, Ms. Sportsman earned her Bachelor of Arts in Nursing in 1994, and her Bachelor's Degree in Secondary Education in 1974, from Luther College. She is a two-time recipient of the Award for Excellence in Nursing from the Mayo Foundation for Medical Education and Research, and was awarded a scholarship to attend an educational conference in San Francisco. In 2010, she will be published in a national nursing journal featuring an article on how nurses use their knowledge of genetics in their practice.
