Pauline McDuffy Honored by Cambridge Who's Who for Excellence in Nursing Leadership
Pauline McDuffy enjoyed a rich 51-year career as a nurse and nurse motivational speaker

NORTH BRUNSWICK, NJ, May 25, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Pauline McDuffy, who retired as a Nurse Motivational Speaker from St. Elizabeth Hospital, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for demonstrating dedication and excellence in nursing leadership.

A 51-year veteran of patient care, Pauline McDuffy was able to carve out a fulfilling career as a nurse motivational speaker. She concluded her career as co-owner of her daughter's venture C&D Management Company, where she prepared updated materials; presented seminars, workshops and conferences on procedures, leadership and professionalism; collaborated with management; and worked on personnel policies, public relations and communication. Ms. McDuffy received multiple awards during her time as a nurse, including a Nurse of the Year Award, a Governor's coveted Award for Excellence in Nursing, and recognition from the Medical Society of New Jersey as a member of the now-defunct New Jersey Medical Task Force. She was encouraged to enter the nursing field by her parents.

Ms. McDuffy completed training at Bellevue Hospital and Ancora State Hospital in psychiatric nursing and behavioral modification. She served as president of the now-defunct Licensed Practical Nursing Association of New Jersey, Inc., Division 2 and as an advisory board member of five schools of practical nursing. Ms. McDuffy was nominated for the Board of Nursing membership and held panel affiliation with, and acted as a correspondent for, the national headquarters of the National Association for Practical Nurse Education and Service in New York. She also sat as resolution chair of Senator Sponsorships.

Now officially in retirement, Ms. McDuffy is focused on writing about her life reflections in scroll form. The three she has completed are entitled, "My Interpretation of Practical", "Our Future Professionals" and "Professionalism."
