Sheila M. Henriques named "Professional of the Year" by Cambridge Who's Who for the 2009/2010 year

ROSEVILLE, CA, May 24, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Sheila M. Henriques, MN, MBA, RN, CPHIMS, Director of Clinical Information Technology Projects for Adventist Health, has been named Cambridge Who's Who Professional of the Year in Clinical IT Management. While inclusion in Cambridge Who's Who Registry is an honor, only two male and two female members in each discipline are named the Cambridge Who's Who Professional of the Year. The Cambridge Who's Who selection committee chooses these special honorees based on their professional accomplishments, academic achievements, and leadership abilities.

Sheila M. Henriques brings complementary experience in healthcare and information technology to Adventist Health. In her current position since 2008, she is in charge of overseeing clinical IT projects for 17 hospitals and healthcare facilities. Her responsibilities include budgeting participation with strategic planning, and assisting clinicians with IT projects and processes. Ms. Henriques began her career 29 years ago as a registered nurse for Loma Linda University Medical Center and there honed her skills in nurse management. She later found her niche in healthcare information technology, after a new clinical system was implemented and her computer skills distinguished her from among her peers. Since moving into IT in 1997, Ms. Henriques has led a number of successful EMR implementations. She attributes her success to her leadership skills and the support that she receives from her mentors and superiors.

A member of the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society, Ms. Henriques became a certified professional in healthcare information and management systems in 2002. She obtained her MBA in 2004 from La Sierra University and a master of nursing in 1994 through the University of Phoenix. Away from work, she performs with a singing ministry that brings comfort to people who are homebound or are in a nursing home. She also gives generously to her local church and the Dolphin Research Center in Marathon, Florida.
