Balwant Nagra Inducted into Cambridge Who's Who
Balwant Nagra celebrates 20 years in the medical field
AMHERST, NY, June 23, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Balwant Nagra, MD, Psychiatrist at Erie County Medical Center, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for demonstrating dedication, leadership and excellence in medical care.
Through his hard work and communication skills, Dr. Nagra has attained 20 years worth of experience in psychiatry. Specializing in mental illness diagnosis, he evaluates patients and administers appropriate treatments. Erie County Medical Center provides trauma, burn, rehabilitation and cardiac care. Prior to moving to the United States, Dr. Nagra practiced in India. Currently, he is also an assistant professor at the University at Buffalo, teaching child psychiatry to medical students.
Dr. Nagra was inspired to pursue a career in psychiatry by his uncle, who was also a psychiatrist. In 1990, he obtained his MD from Dayanand Medical College and Hospital. Subsequently, he completed his fellowship in Child Psychiatry through the University at Buffalo, an internship in Internal Medicine with Bassett Healthcare and his residency in General Psychiatry at The Medical Center of Delaware. A member of the American Psychiatric Association and the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, he attained the Community Service Award from the India Association of Buffalo in 2009.
