Donna Derouchie successfully balances quality of care with fiscal responsibilities

A dedicated professional with nearly three decades of experience in the health care sector, Ms. Derouchie is committed to the transformation of health care organizations into thriving, efficient, patient-centered environments. Her areas of expertise include strategic and capital planning, budget planning and development, operational and financial risk management, and crisis and turnaround management. In the course of her impressive professional history, she has accomplished a number of achievements, including the consistent management of operations to yield high quality outcomes and standards of care and service. Ms. Derouchie has established her reputation as a trusted, compassionate, modern leader.

Since 2003, Ms. Derouchie has served as an administrator for Glen Store Dun Lodge, a municipal health care facility for the elderly. Her position entails planning, directing and monitoring all operational and perfomance outcomes for the 132-bed municipal long term care provider. This includes ensuring compliance, promoting a culture of client-focused care, and conducting site visits. Her further responsibilities include overseeing all programs, operations, managers and staff.

Ms. Derouchie has always had a passion for helping others and becoming a registered nurse facilitated this dream. In order to further elicit change that would directly impact the quality of care delivered, she continued her education in order to attain the roles of director of nursing and administrator. She holds a Bachelor of Science in nursing from the University of Ottawa and an MBA in human resources from Walden University. Ms. Derouchie also holds certifications in long term care senior management and occupational health and safety. Her professional affiliations include the College of Nurses of Ontario, and the Geriatric Nurses Association.
