Dr. Karen Mathews Included in Distinguished Registry
Dr. Karen M. Mathews was honored with a Fifth Oak Leaf Cluster Meritorious Service Medal

TIPP CITY, OH, May 18, 2011 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Karen Mathews, Retired Master Clinician for the U.S. Air Force, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for demonstrating dedication, leadership and excellence in health care.

An American Board of Family Medicine certified physician with an MD from Washington University School of Medicine, Dr. Mathews dedicated her 26-year medical career to the U.S. Air Force. In the position of master clinician, she specialized in primary care, aerospace medicine and medical readiness. She directed an ambulatory clinic that served 40,000 patients, took on administrative responsibilities, developed health care policy for eight medical facilities, and mentored numerous junior physicians

Dr. Mathews was honored with a Fifth Oak Leaf Cluster Meritorious Service Medal and attributes her success to the discipline instilled in her by the military. She continues to retain memberships in the American Medical Association, The National Medical Association, and the American Academy for Family Physicians. She currently functions as the Medical Director of Student Health at Central State University.
