Elizabeth J. Rodgers Featured in Cambridge Who's Who
Elizabeth Rodgers has gained international experience as a nurse and missionary
ALBUQUERQUE, NM, May 12, 2011 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Elizabeth J. Rodgers, Registered Nurse at UNM Hospital, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for demonstrating dedication, leadership and excellence in neonatology.
As a registered nurse in the Newborn Intensive Care Unit at UNM Hospital, Ms. Rodgers is responsible for monitoring vital signs, drawing labs, administering medications and intravenous fluids, feeding babies, and educating parents. Ms. Rodgers entered the nursing field to help children after graduating with a 4.0 GPA two and a half years ago. Having gone on short-term mission trips to England, Scotland, Australia, Romania, New Zealand, Germany, Poland and South Africa, Ms. Rodgers has seen first-hand how people live in other countries, the poverty that they deal with, and the social issues that come with it. Thus, she is committed to continuing her studies and working in the nursing field in order to make an impact around the world. Though her own hard work and discipline have been contributing factors, she attributes the majority of her success to the support she has received from her parents and to her strong faith in God.
Ms. Rodgers earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from The University of New Mexico in 2008. In addition to her formal education and her status as a registered nurse, she has received certifications in neonatal and cardiopulmonary resuscitation. In the near future, Ms. Rodgers intends to work as a pediatric nurse practitioner. Eventually, she would like to establish an orphanage and clinic in Africa. She plans on attending the Pediatric Nurse Practitioners Program at NYU this fall.
