Dr. Susan M. Santry Inducted into Cambridge Who's Who
Dr. Susan M. Santry celebrates 25 years of internal medicine practice

MOUNT VERNON, NY, June 16, 2011 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Dr. Susan M. Santry, Medical Doctor, practicing with Valneo M. Buttari, MD in a PLLC, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for demonstrating dedication, leadership and excellence in internal medicine, primarily based in geriatrics and adult medicine.

Dr. Santry knew at a very young age that she would become a physician, and she attributes her success to an ongoing interest in learning new knowledge of medicine, and her persistent enjoyment of working with patients - many of whom she has seen not only the grandparents, but also the parents and grandchildren (now grown).

Dr. Santry has a busy practice in Mount Vernon, N.Y., a geriatric practice at Sunrise Assisted Living both at Sunrise at Fleetwood and Sunrise of Crestwood. She has been at her office for 25 years. Soon she will be joining a practice of attending physicians associated with Lawrence Hospital, in Bronxville N.Y. with the title LMA.

She attends to her patients personally at Lawrence Hospital, Sound Shore Hospital and Mt. Vernon Hospital as well as two of the Sunrise Facilities. Her undergraduate studies were at NYU, where she received a Bachelor of Science with a specialization in neurophysiology. This was followed with research at Rockefeller University, NYU and Columbia University, specializing in the research of learning on the synaptic and cellular level of the brain. Simultaneously, she completed a pre-medical program at Columbia University, while working with the Department of Thoracic Surgery, The College of Physicians and Surgeons in The Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory. She also participated in the Beth Israel Department of Cardiac Catheterization and Research at the Beth Israel Hospital.

Dr. Santry received her MD from St. Georges University in 1983 (in three years) and completed her residency in Mt. Vernon, serving as chief resident in her last year. She obtained her license to practice internal medicine in 1987, and immediately passed her boards, and started her practice the following day. Nine years ago she was joined by Dr Valneo M. Buttari in partnership. She is proud of her multilingual staff, and the compassionate reputation of her office as a whole.

Susan is married to surgeon Dr. Sidney Kaplan and resides in Greenwich, Conn.
