BROCKPORT, NY, June 22, 2011 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Dr. Vanessa E. Junor, Chief of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Lakeside Memorial Hospital, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for demonstrating dedication, leadership and excellence in women's health care.

A respected specialist in obstetrics and gynecology, Dr. Junor marks her fourth year as OB-GYN chief at Lakeside Memorial Hospital and approaching six years in practice. She performs a combination of clinical and managerial duties in this capacity, including overseeing office and departmental staff, working in the operating room three days a week and teaching medical students. Dr. Junor discovered her calling in women's health care while doing rotations in medical school, and considers introducing future doctors to the diversity of obstetrics and gynecology to be the most enjoyable aspect of her work. She attributes her success to putting her patients' safety and comfort above all else.

Dr. Junor received a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine in 2000 from the New York College of Osteopathic Medicine. Her professional affiliations include the Medical Society of the State of New York, American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, American College of Osteopathic Family Physicians, American Osteopathic Association, American College of Physician Executives, American College of Osteopathic Obstetricians and Gynecologists, and American Medical Association. She is a supporter of St. Jude Children's Research Hospital and the Open Door Mission.
