Frederick D. Miller Named VIP of the Year for Excellence in Medical Services
Col. Miller served in the Vietnam War and responded to hurricane Katrina relief efforts in Biloxi, Miss.

Four years ago, Col. Frederick Miller began working for the Ohio Military Reserve, transitioning from his past positions with the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office, where he served as a lieutenant, and the U.S. Marine Corps. He utilizes his expertise in medical services to evaluate patients, perform physical examinations, and ensure that the needs of doctors and nurses are met. Miller has been a certified paramedic since 1972 and has evinced his ability to provide health care services in emergency situations.

The highlights of Miller's 52-year career were serving in the Vietnam War and responding to the Hurricane Katrina relief efforts in Biloxi, Miss. Dedicated to the military and police department, he is motivated by the support of his wife and family, and credits his success to his hard work and education. Miller earned an associate degree in political science from the American Institute of Applied Science in 1966. He is a certified evidence technician, law enforcement instructor, hazardous materials instructor, and terrorism-survival instructor. His accomplishments have been recognized with numerous decorations, including a Purple Heart Award, a Meritorious Service Medal, a Marine Corps Commendation Medal, two Marine Corps Achievement Medals, an Army Achievement Medal, and an Armed Forces Expedition Medal, among many others.
