BEDFORD, TX, July 19, 2011 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Nikhil K. Bhayani, Physician for Infectious Disease Doctors, P.A., has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for demonstrating dedication, leadership and excellence in health care.

Since attaining an MD from the Ross University School of Medicine in 2003, Dr. Bhayani has established a reputation for providing the best quality care for his patients. He practices at Infectious Disease Doctors, P.A., and specializes in infectious disease and HIV medicine. In addition to practicing primary infectious diseases and treating patients in hospitals, he serves as the director of infection control at two hospitals and director of the antibiotic stewardship committee at three hospitals. Dr. Bhayani also holds a leadership position on the pharmacy and therapeutics committee at one hospital. The author of numerous medical publications, he is a member of the Infectious Diseases Society of America.

Dr. Bhayani completed a residency at Mercy Hospital & Medical Center and a fellowship in infectious diseases at the University of Illinois' Department of Medicine. He is board-certified in internal medicine and infectious diseases by the American Board of Internal Medicine. In 1998, he earned a Bachelor of Science in biology with a minor in chemistry from The University of Utah. Dr. Bhayani is the recipient of several formal recognitions in honor of his work. Most recently, in 2008, the Illinois Math and Sciences Academy honored him with a recognition award for mentoring students and developing rapid HIV testing protocol in the emergency room of the University of Chicago Medical Center. In the years to come, Dr. Bhayani intends to continue with his work and cultivate relationships with other doctors and patients.
