Dr. Samuel Klagsbrun Recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for Excellence in Psychiatric Care
Dr. Klagsbrun celebrates nearly 50 years of providing compassionate psychiatric care

KATONAH, NY, August 11, 2011 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Samuel C. Klagsbrun, MD, Physician and Executive Medical Director for Four Winds Hospitals, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in psychiatric care.

Thirty-three years ago, Dr. Klagsbrun took the opportunity to purchase Four Winds Hospital. He implemented new programs and now operates the original facility as a 175-bed hospital that provides comprehensive inpatient and outpatient mental health treatment services for children, adolescents and adults. With nearly five decades of experience in psychiatry, he focuses his attention on treating difficult and special psychiatric cases. He has created another Four Winds Hospital, located in Saratoga Springs, N.Y.

Dr. Klagsbrun began his education in psychology, earning a bachelor's degree in the subject at The City College of The City University of New York. He found psychiatry more fitting to his interest in medicine and pursued an MD at the Chicago Medical School, which he obtained in 1962. He then completed a residency in psychiatry at Yale University. Active within his professional community, Dr. Klagsbrun is a member of the American Psychiatric Association, the American Psychosomatic Society, the American Group Psychotherapy Association and the Society for Forensic Psychiatry. Annually, he acts as a visiting consultant to St. Christopher's Hospice in London. Furthermore, he shares his medical knowledge with the next generation of psychiatrists as a clinical professor at Albert Einstein College of Medicine.
