Amanda Ruch provides operational and clinical oversight to skilled nursing, comprehensive care, assisted living and independent living residents in a continuing care retirement community

ADAMSTOWN, MD, September 23, 2011 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Amanda Ruch, RN, Director of Nursing for Buckingham's Choice, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in nursing.

Ms. Ruch decided to pursue a career in the medical field through the influence of a health crisis in her family. Today, she has more than a decade of professional experience and is a certified director of nursing in long term care. She serves as the director of nursing for Buckingham's Choice, a continuing care retirement community that caters to approximately 300 independent living, 45 assisted living residents and 42 residents in comprehensive care. Ms. Ruch is tasked with overseeing all operations for the nursing departments and social services for the community, as well as managing nursing work flow and long-term care.

In recognition of her work, Ms. Ruch was recently selected as a VIP of the Year by Cambridge Who's Who. This special distinction honors individuals who have shown exceptional commitment to achieving personal and professional goals. Ms. Ruch attributes her success to her motivation and strong work ethic and passion for providing stellar care to the adult/geriatric population. She plans to attend the adult/geriatric nurse practitioner program at the University of Maryland in the near future.

Ms. Ruch holds a Bachelor of Science in nursing from Deaconess College of Nursing, which is now known as the Chamberlain College of Nursing. As a student, she consistently made the dean's list. She was also inducted into Sigma Theta Tau International, the honor society of nursing. Furthermore, Ms. Ruch is a certified MDS 3.0 assessment coordinator. She remains current in her industry through a number of professional affiliations, including the American Association of Nurse Assessment Coordinators and National Director of Nurses Association / Long Term Care.
