Deborah Johnson celebrates nearly 40 years in the health care industry

GRANBURY, TX, September 01, 2011 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Deborah S. Johnson, MT, Supervisor of the Blood Bank and Chemistry Department at Lake Granbury Medical Center, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for demonstrating dedication, leadership and excellence in laboratory management.

Almost 40 years ago, Ms. Johnson decided to pursue her interest in the health care field and earn a certification in phlebotomy. Soon after, she furthered her training and became a certified medical technologist. Through hard work and a great deal of energy, she has been able to lead a successful career of extensive longevity.

Johnson has spent the last eight years with the Lake Granbury Medical Center, where she uses her strong knowledge of blood banks and chemistry to supervise a team of 15 staff members. She is entrusted with managing the medical center's blood bank, drawing blood, maintaining equipment and reviewing applications. She also assists physicians, performs quality control tests, and chooses appropriate data systems and equipment.

Johnson is involved in her industry through affiliations with the Texas Department of State Health Services, the American Society for Nondestructive Testing, Inc., and American Medical Technologists. She intends to remain in a supervisory position and use her field experience to mentor new medical technicians.
