Dr. Boyer-Patrick has been named a Professional of the Year for 2011-2012

ELLICOTT CITY, MD, September 23, 2011 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Jude Boyer-Patrick, Medical Director of the Good Shepherd Center, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in mental health care.

As the Medical Director of Good Shepherd Center, a position she has held for three years, Dr. Boyer-Patrick is responsible for managing all nursing and medical services, supervising a full medical complement of professionals, and setting policy. She holds staff meetings and performs clinical work for 33 female adolescents in the residential facility once a month.

Dr. Boyer-Patrick received an MD from Michigan State University in 1990 after earning a Master of Public Health from Loma Linda University in 1979. In addition to her degrees, she received specialty training in addictions and certification in adult, child and adolescent care. She is a member of the American Academy of Child Adolescent Psychiatry. In 2002, she received an Outstanding Physician Award from the National Council on Alcoholism and Drug Dependence, Inc. In years to come, Dr. Boyer-Patrick hopes to do more public speaking to help destigmatize the field of mental health and raise awareness of the need for better mental health treatments.

Good Shepherd Center is a nonprofit residential treatment center that provides medical and therapeutic services, including a day school, for adolescents with emotional and behavioral problems.
