MIDLOTHIAN, VA, September 9, 2011 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Mohamed Abouhasira, MD, Physician of Hunter Holmes McGuire VA Medical Center, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in primary care.

As a primary care physician at Hunter Holmes McGuire VA Medical Center, Dr. Abouhasira has eight years of experience treating patients with maladies ranging in complexity. He became involved in his profession in order to provide patients with top medical care. The most gratifying aspect of his career is delivering excellent patient satisfaction and receiving recognition from patients and colleagues. He attributes his success to his hard work and the support he receives from his family.

Dr. Abouhasira completed a residency at East Tennessee State University in 2001, having previously earned an MD at Ain Shams University, Cairo, Egypt. Licensed to practice medicine in the states of California and Virginia, and received certification from the American Board of Internal Medicine in 2005. In addition, he maintains certification in both basic life support and advanced cardiac life support. Dr. Abouhasira was a member of the American Medical Association from 1998 until 2005 and is currently a member of the American College of Physicians. He has received multiple American Medical Association Physician's Recognition Awards. Moreover, he received the Department of Internal Medicine Award from James H. Quillen College of Medicine and has been recognized with a special award for his excellence in teaching.
