Roy F.C. Parker, RPA-C, Named a Professional of the Year in Medical Support Services
Roy Parker specializes in emergency medicine at Adirondack Medical Center

VERMONTVILLE, NY, January 5, 2012 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Roy F.C. Parker, Physician Assistant for Adirondack Medical Center, has been named a Cambridge Who's Who Professional of the Year in Medical Support Services. While inclusion in the Cambridge Who's Who Registry is an honor, only a small selection of members in each discipline are chosen for this distinction. These special honorees are distinguished based on their professional accomplishments, academic achievements, leadership abilities, years of service, and the credentials they have provided in association with their Cambridge Who's Who membership.

A former medic for the U.S. Army, Mr. Parker has acquired a varied skill set covering family practice, surgery, emergency medicine, geriatric medicine, trauma, correctional medicine and frontier medicine, and teaching. He celebrates his 30th year as a physician assistant for Adirondack Medical Center. Assigned to the Emergency Department, Mr. Parker provides immediate medical care, and consults with physicians and specialists.

Mr. Parker obtained a Bachelor of Science in physician assistant studies from Finch University of Medical Sciences/Chicago Medical School, and an Associate of Applied Science in physician assistant studies from the Albany-Hudson Valley Physician Assistant Program. He completed an emergency residency program at the University of Iowa Hospital and Clinics, and earned advanced trauma life support certification, board certification in surgery and certification from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants. In addition, Mr. Parker is an advanced cardiac life support instructor, board certified physician assistant, and pediatric advanced life support instructor. Most recently, he passed his emergency medicine boards for physician assistant.

Respected by his peers, Mr. Parker is a distinguished fellow of the American Academy of Physician Assistants, and a fellow of the New York State Society of Physician Assistants, the Georgia Association of Physician Assistants. Additionally, he is a member of the Society of Emergency Medicine Physician Assistants and the Association of Family Practice Physician Assistants. He is a life member of both the National Rifle Association and Safari Club International. Mr. Parker and his wife Jeanine intend to retire within the next few years and move to the Florida Gulf Coast.
